Permits and registration
Required if your logistics job involves driving vehicles that transport dangerous goods (fuel, chemicals, batteries, compressed gases) on Finnish or EU roads.
ADR is mandatory under the European Agreement on Dangerous Goods. Driving without it is a serious offence, can void transport insurance, and your employer can lose its transport licence.
ADR training is provided by Traficom-approved schools in Finland. Base course is about 3 days (24 hours). Add-on modules exist for tanks, explosives (class 1), and radioactive (class 7). Cost: EUR 400 to EUR 900 depending on modules. Test is administered by Traficom. Certificate valid for 5 years and is recognised across EU.
