Everyday life
Finnish cities have efficient public transport. Get a rechargeable HSL card (Helsinki) or your city's equivalent for cheaper fares.
Public transport is the most practical way to get around Finnish cities. A travel card is significantly cheaper than buying single tickets.
In the Helsinki metropolitan area, get an HSL card at any HSL service point or through the HSL app. The card costs €5 and can be loaded with a travel season ticket or pay-as-you-go credit. In Tampere, use the Nysse system; in Turku, Föli. Monthly passes offer good value - a Helsinki monthly pass is about €60.
