Permits and registration
If you are from outside the EU/EEA, make sure your residence permit covers your purpose of stay (work, study, family).
Working or living in Finland without the correct permit type can have serious legal consequences.
Apply for a residence permit through the Finnish Immigration Service (Migri). The type of permit depends on your reason for moving: work-based (employer-specific or continuous), student, or family reunification. Processing times vary. After arrival, you may need to visit a police station to provide biometric data for your residence permit card.
