Activate your online banking credentials - they are your digital identity in Finland, not just for banking.

Why this matters

Finnish bank credentials (verkkopankkitunnukset or mobiilivarmenteen) are used across hundreds of services for secure identification. Without them, you cannot access many public digital services.

How it goes

Once your account is open, activate online banking through your bank's app or website. You will receive a set of credentials or a security app. Consider also applying for a mobile certificate (mobiilivarmenteen) which works independently of your bank for online authentication.
