By creating an account or using New to Finland (“the Service”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. Description of service

New to Finland is a free informational tool that helps people who have recently moved to Finland. It provides checklists, practical guides, community discussion, resource links, and transport information.

3. Not legal or official advice

Important: The information in this app is provided for general guidance only. It does not constitute legal, financial, medical, or immigration advice. Always verify requirements with the relevant Finnish authorities (DVV, Migri, Kela, Tax Administration, etc.). We are not liable for decisions made based on information in this app.

4. User accounts

• You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
• You are responsible for keeping your password secure.
• You must not share your account or create multiple accounts.
• We may suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms.

5. Community guidelines

When posting in the community, you agree to:

• Be respectful and constructive.
• Not post spam, hate speech, harassment, or illegal content.
• Not share personal information of others without consent.
• Not advertise or promote commercial services without permission.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these guidelines.

6. Intellectual property

The Service and its original content (excluding user-generated content) are owned by the operator. Guide content, design, and code are protected by copyright. You may not copy, redistribute, or create derivative works without permission.

Content you post in the community remains yours, but you grant us a licence to display it within the Service.

7. External links

The Service may contain links to external websites (e.g. official Finnish authorities, transport apps). We are not responsible for the content, availability, or privacy practices of these external sites.

8. Availability and warranty

The Service is provided “as is” without warranty. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, accuracy of content, or fitness for a particular purpose. We may modify or discontinue the Service at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Finnish law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Any disputes shall be settled in a Finnish court of competent jurisdiction.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Significant changes will be communicated in-app. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
