Finland has excellent public transport especially in cities. Helsinki region (HSL) has a zone-based ticketing system covering buses, trams, metro, and commuter trains. Good to know
Outside Helsinki, Tampere, Turku, and Oulu have their own transport networks. Intercity trains are operated by VR - book in advance for cheaper fares. Long-distance buses (Onnibus, Matkahuolto) are affordable. If you have low income, Kela may cover some transport costs for work or study.
