Non-EU/EEA students need a Finnish student residence permit before arriving. Processing can take 1–3+ months.
Create an Enter Finland account at migri.fi/en and start an application for a student residence permit.
Attach the required documents: passport copy, admission letter, proof of sufficient funds (approx. €800/month), and health insurance covering at least €40,000.
Pay the application fee and submit the application. Visit a Finnish embassy or visa centre in person to identify yourself and provide biometrics.
Wait for the decision. Once approved, pick up your residence permit card, then travel to Finland and continue with DVV registration.
