Non-EU/EEA: apply for a student residence permit at Migri and arrange health insurance. EU/EEA: get EHIC card.
Conditionally admitted students: submit educational document verification by the deadline.
Non-EU/EEA: pay tuition via Flywire (Early Bird discount ends 10 June).
Apply for housing from May — Elli in Joensuu, Kuopas in Kuopio.
Register as present and pay the ISYY Student Union membership fee (online closes ~21 Aug; on-campus ~15 Sept).
Plan travel, insurance, and tickets; arrive by programme start date. Maintain contact with your programme coordinator and tutor.
Join the orientation programme — online sessions around 24–25 Aug; onsite around 2 Sept and 1 Oct.
Attend orientation programme sessions.
Activate your UEF user account and complete strong identification at the IT Service Desk.
Register for courses in Peppi.
Download the Tuudo app for integrated student services.
Register at DVV for your Finnish personal identity code and municipality of residence.
Pay the Student Health Care fee (€35.60/semester) online by 15 November (autumn) or the spring-semester deadline.
